Manufacturing
Our own production, inside the Jiaxing lace belt
Some of what you order is made in our own workshop. The rest is placed with partner lines in the lace and embroidery cluster around Jiaxing, which is one of the reasons lace is made here at all. Both routes end the same way: inspected in-house against the sample you confirmed, and answered for by us.
Where the work runs
One workshop, and the belt around it
Lace is not made in one kind of factory, and pretending otherwise is how buyers end up with a supplier who can do one thing well and claims everything. What we hold is a workshop of our own and working access to the production around it.
Our own workshop
Development and production we run ourselves, on the work it is set up for: the patterns we know, the constructions it holds well, the quantities it is efficient at, and the development work that has to stay under our own eye from the first sample.
Partner lines in the cluster
Jiaxing and the towns around it are one of the places lace and embroidery are actually made. The partners we use are part of that cluster: they widen what we can take on, and they are chosen - not found by accident - for the order in front of us.
Placement
The line is chosen for the pattern
Which line runs your order is a decision made per pattern and per order, not a house rule. Six things decide it, and none of them is convenience.
-
Machine and process
The construction the pattern needs has to be something the line is set up to run.
-
Quality
The line has to be able to hold the standard your confirmed sample sets, not merely to run the pattern.
-
Quantity
A sample, a first order and a repeat program are three different sizes of job.
-
Cost
What the order costs to make is part of what you are quoted, so it is part of where it is placed.
-
Date
A line that cannot meet the date without rushing your order is the wrong line for your order.
-
Capacity
What is free when you place the order decides how quickly it can be scheduled.
Why a repeat goes back to the same line
The same pattern made on a different machine or by a different line can come out different - in hand, in width, in the way the colour sits. So once a pattern has run well, that resource is recorded as verified for it, and a repeat order goes back to it. If it has to move, the result is verified again first, and where quality could be affected the pattern is re-sampled and re-confirmed with you before it is produced.
From the production floor
What the work looks like
These are photographs from our own production files rather than a picture library. The captions say what each file is, and nothing more than that.
Responsibility
Your order has one name on it: ours
Placing work with a partner line is a way of having more production available to you. It is not a way of having less responsibility for what you ordered.
Quality responsibility does not move to a partner, and a problem that starts on a partner line is never handed to you as the partner's problem to solve. What we agreed with you is what we answer for, on any line.
Production resources are kept as working records rather than as a list of names: a pattern that ran well keeps the resource that ran it, and a resource that stops holding the standard for a pattern is re-verified, restricted, or taken out of use for it before it can run that pattern again.
One person on your side of the order
Your enquiry has one responsible person with us from the first message to the final shipment, and the production and supply-chain teams work to what that person confirmed with you. You are not asked to coordinate the production yourself.
Next step
Tell us the pattern and the quantity
Send the pattern, the reference or the sketch, what the lace is going into, and the quantity you have in mind. That is enough for us to say which line it would run on, and what the order would look like.
